List of GM candidates

I've read great things about Ballard, Gaine(worked for the Jets when Parcells was here), Gamble(shaky with the salary cap though), DeCosta, and I'm sure based on his name, Wolf will be a favorite among many.

I don't think Idzik will be fired, but the Steelers assistant Omar Kahn was a finalist last time

Good article 51. Looks like a pretty comprehensive list. I would be shocked if Idzik isn't fired at this point.

Now, I know Manish has lost his mind. Doubt this "dynamic duo" wants to face Belichick twice a year, and do we really want the guy who drafted Tim Tebow in the first round as our HC? Oh well, at least it gave Manish another way to rip into Idzik.


I wonder if Manish realizes that Idzik coached as well and was a Pro personnel assistant, Director of football administration, and Asst. GM before?

Tobin's been on my future GMs list the last two years. Great rep as an evaluator, and football bloodlines. Should get a good look this year.

It would be nice to know if Idzik was definitely gone. I think if he is being replaced we need to find out who Casserly is close to now. Football is still an old boys network. I am sure whoever he recommends will be qualified but also will have some kind of past ties to him.

That's great in theory. I would still like to see how it plays out. I think I have made it clear I have no faith in Woody so I take what he says with a grain of salt.

Hopefully Wolf is nothing like Polian's son who was a train wreck in Indy. Obviously Decosta would be great too, but I don't see him leaving the Ravens.

I wonder if Tobin was hired if Hue Jackson would be the coach?

Steiny also posted that Casserly replaced Bill Tobin, Duke's father, on the NFL's Competition Committee in 1998. Said they go way back.

Cincinnati has a ton of talent on their roster. Wouldn't mind a dose of that, along with a fresh, competent coaching staff.
