On days when Geno clearly doesn't have it, I see nothing wrong with bringing in the backup for a spark. If Geno cant handle it, he should grow a pair. He's owed nothing in the NFL; no one is.

I got here just in time . Nice run by Johnson breaking the tackle and showing off his speed.

The best long term solution is currently not on the team. Yet, Vick can help us atleast win this season.
Win what? A wild card and first round exit?
Sorry, but neither Vick nor Geno is taking this team anywhere. Put in Vick now, and it's the end of Geno for good. You can't do this casually. Replacing a QB is not like replacing a starting pitcher. You do this, and it's pretty close to irrevocable.
I'm not sure it's just him. You replace him as starting QB, and you are changing your offensive philosophy to match Vick's skill set instead of Geno's. Then it becomes Vick's offense, Vick's team, and not Geno's.
Basically, it's pulling the plug on Geno. Not many QBs have come back from losing their starting status to become legitimately good starters afterward.

I'm just not sure it's that easy, that you can treat QBs like pitchers.

Every time the Jets have done something, the Lions respond. Can this defense that Rex constantly brags about please make a stop???

Again, why? Who says a young QB has to play every snap of every game when he's playing poorly?

Because every snap is experience toward development. If yanking QBs all the time worked, wouldn't more teams employ it?

How many times are the Jets going to get jobbed on reviews? This is just ridiculous.

If helmet does in fact count as down (which apparently it does, but I've never heard that) then I'd agree that it's too close to change.SackExchange wrote:How many times are the Jets going to get jobbed on reviews? This is just ridiculous.

Here is how I look at things
Geno is in his 2nd year and could still possibly improve. He needs as many snaps as he can get. If he improves great we can look forward to a nice 3rd year.
If not and he is as bad as his critics think we will have our version of suck for Luck and hopefully draft high enough for a shot at Mariota

You're probably right. The helmet is a point of contact like a knee or elbow, so it was understandable for it to stand. But none of these close calls ever go for the Jets, especially this year.
