The #Seahawks announced a 4-year contract extension for emerging LB KJ Wright. I’m told it’s for $27M. Keeps him off the market.

#Seahawks have signed pass-rusher Cliff Avril to a 4-year extension worth $28.5M with $16M guaranteed, source says.

1 reason #Seahawks dealt Percy Harvin was to free up some of his $$. They made it count with big extensions for KJ Wright & now Cliff Avril

Interesting note from Phil Savage and Pat Kirwan on Sirius today. Pass rushers are extremely hard to develop in the NFL today with the new CBA.
They used this example to explain why: in practice, a pass rusher gets 4 reps in individual drills and 4-6 in team drills and almost none of the reps are in pads per day. 10 total pass rushing reps per day.
On the other side of the ball, WRs are expected to catch 100-120 balls per day between jug machines, individual drill, QB reps, and team practices.
Pretty interesting detail.

He's just an "advisor". The Dolphins just hired a gm last year, and I think Tannenbaum likes his gig as an agent for coaches.

Tannenbaum is being used in Miami as a multi-tasker, helping in their legal area, as well as helping in cap areas & players contracts. He is a glorified grunt with the Flipper's, with no football authority.

Gil Brandt is reporting on Sirius Suh will be a Raider..makes a lot of sense. Suh has said he'll go to the highest bidder...and everyone expects that to be the Raiders. Will be interesting because I've read the Giants are going to go all in too.

ESPN Insider and Sirius reporting Browns targetting QB this offseason and everyone from the owner down Haeckel lost confidence in Manziel saying he won't put in the work coaches are preaching and he still believes his brand of football can be successful in the NFL. Since Browns acquired the Bills picks in the Watkins trade, reports are TE Browns have no concerns from moving on from Manziel.
Winston fans - I have the same concern.

Rumor is Atlanta is ready to fire Mike Smith, but he will be hard to fire if they beat the Panthers this weekend, win the division, and then host a play-off home game vs the Cards and win again.
Would Atlanta fire a division champion coach that also won them a home play-off game? That would be a hard sell to the fans I'd think...especially with the additional revenue a home playoff game brings.

Real good chance that the losing HC Ron Rivera / Panthers or Mike Smith / Falcons might be fired if they lose Sunday ? I think right now Smith is on the hotter seat.

My coach of the year is Bill o'Brien. Maybe I'm bias, but he'll finish the year 9-7 playing with no QB and their GM wasting the #1 overall pick. Just to tell you how good O'Brien has been, the Texans are 8-7 right now with 1 TD pass in the last 3 games...and it was thrown by Arian Foster.
Also, those hoping for a Jags or Raiders win this weekend, I have bad news for you, both are 0-7 on the road this year, and i bet that trend won't change this weekend.

Carlos Dansby rips Gilbert CB an Manziel QB for wasting Rookie years due to poor work ethic...
...both have promised to work harder this off season and take football more seriously.
^^^yuck
This is why you dont draft players who don't love football.

Your Carolina Panthers have the best winning % in the Month of December in the entire NFL since they joined the NFL as an expansion team, believe it not.
No team has a better record or winning %in the last month of the season than the Panthers so many think they'll pull this one out, Arthur Blank (and his new young hottie), might not be too upset if that happens so they can , can Smith.

Per @MikeSilver, WR Josh Gordon missed the walk-through today. May explain his suspension

For the Browns, a rather convenient suspension, as it means this season does not count toward Gordon's accrued season total. Therefore, he's restricted this upcoming offseason, a RFA, not an UFA.

Indeed. The decision to suspend him was hardly carved in stone--they could have dealt with him missing the walk-through in any number of ways.
Well, that being said, Gordon appears to be his own worst enemy, and probably the only person who can stop him from putting up 100 yards receiving every week.

I bet the Browns would entertain a high (2) draft choice for Gordon ? Is he too big a gamble to trade for ?
