I don't think they will refuse I just threw it out as a possibility and that the interview was not guaranteed.

True, they could. But I would be very surprised if they did.

We may find ourselves in a conundrum.  Let's say we LOVE Dan Quinn but Quinn hasn't given us any sort of commitment.  Then we REALLY LIKE Todd Bowles but Bowles has a 2nd interview with Atlanta.  Do we offer the job to Bowles or do we wait for Quinn, risking losing both our #1 and #2 choices.  

Classic decision analysis situation.

No of course if Quinn has given us the old "wink wink", then all bets are off.

Not sure. Do you take the chance to get your top guy, or go with your second choice who you can have now?

The tough part is, you can't offer the job to Bowles unless you know he will take it. If you offer it and he goes to Atlanta, you have just now signified to Quinn that you were ready to give the job to another guy.

Apparently, Bowles was originally supposed to go to Atlanta first. I wonder if we offer him the job? Manish's "sources" said that Quinn wants the Jets, and the Jets want Quinn. However, I mentioned this before, I'm skeptical. His "sources" are usually player agents. Quinn is repped by Tannenbaum who has a reputation of feeding Mehta information. I'm not sure if it's legit or set up to make the Jets look bad. It's sad that we have this type of coverage.

At this point Quin is still slightly in front for me. I think in part because more of his strategy for the O has come out. I have heard some very good thing about Bowles recently that intrigue me. I would love to hear what Bowles has planned for the O.

Now I like Mike Caldwell a lot as a player and coach. You look up "hard nosed" in the dictionary and there's a pic of Caldwell. He might not be ready to be a DC under normal circumstances, but with Bowles around, it could work. I even like Chan Gailey as an OC option, but not sure he would be in my Top 5

I have all those good things lately plus he is an excellent problem solver.

Not that it will mean anything to most on here but for the heck of it. I just heard Francesa on his show he is raving about Bowles and thinks he is the way the Jets should go.

I could see that. Francesa is a big Parcells guy and Bowles is from that coaching tree.
