Re: Jet Moves made today!
I'm a huge Aaron Berry fan. Obviously, there are injury issues, but I thought he played very well at times for us when he was here. The Phillip Adams kid might be a keeper, Walls can play, Milliner can play, add Berry, keep your fingers crossed, and who knows?

ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Quick-footed and explosive changing direction. Smooth hips, feet and transition. Shadows his man and allows little separation in man coverage. Willing in run support. Plays with emotion and has a chip on his shoulder. Confident and competitive. Good hands and body control (12 career interceptions). Recorded a 39-inch vertical jump, a 6.65-second three-cone time and 3.97-second 20-yard shuttle at his pro day, indicating exceptional lateral agility and lower-body explosion. Tough and will play through injuries as he did playing through a left foot injury as a junior. Four-year starter. Solid football character.
WEAKNESSES Is thinly built and struggles to shed blockers to support the run. Can be late to see plays developing and get out of position sorting out routes and trying to do too much in zone coverage. Diminished ball production (only two interceptions the last two years). Regularly matched up against inferior Division II competition.
DRAFT PROJECTION Round 7-Priority free agent
BOTTOM LINE Raw, lean man cover corner with the quickness and explosive burst to warrant a look as a No. 4 or No. 5 cornerback. Was regularly assigned to the opponent's top receiver and did not have as many opportunities the last two seasons, when his interception production diminished.

Re: Jet Moves made today!
Being a Wake-Forest homer, I hate to see Josh Bush S go; however, he was a waste of a roster space. He was playing out of position @ S, he was a CB @ Wake. I hope Barnes comes in and gets after Brady. I've been disappointed in Jason Babin OLB so far.

Per Adam Caplan, Jets in the process of finalizing 4 year deal with Jeremy Kerley.
Guess the organization feels he's better than Stephen Hill.

Cy, why are you down on Babin? The sacks might not be there, but it seems like every time a jet gets a sack, or their is a hurry, Babin is in the mix. I have been pleased with him.

Good luck, Marcus! I was hoping Simms would get elevated. If Vick gets hurt(50/50 chance there) then
we're back to Geno.

I guess we don't want to hurt Geno's feelings bypassing him for a #3 QB. Seeing as how Geno said he was surprised to be benched after his performance Sunday, he would probably be equally mystified why the team would go to Simms if Vick were hurt.

Too bad they can't put Geno on the inactive list due to his "injured shoulder" and activate Simms - but that would necessitate creating an open roster spot.
Anyone think that Geno wouldn't make it through waivers if they wanted to put him on the PS? (I know they would never do that, just wondering if anyone believes that he has any value to another team).

Re: Jet Moves made today!
Geno would be gobbled up in a NY second going through free agency. GM's and players & coaches watched Geno last thursday night look very good against the Patriots. Teams would dump an older JAG for Geno's "potential".

Re: Jet Moves made today!
I would really like to see what Simms could do. Season is a wash. Vick isn't the future. At least take a peek at Simms.
I also think the whole thing about Geno and his shoulder may be damage control, mutually beneficial for both him and the team. Convenient excuse for his poor play, while allowing Vick to start and Simms to perhaps get a look.

I think the Jets are putting Geno on time out. Ryan and MM have publicly stood by him all year long, even saying things like "I see great things with this kid". So without having to publicly admit they've been wrong about him, they're going to bench him and see what Vick can do, and if Vick fumbles his opportunity away (a distinct possibility) they'll let Geno have one last chance to remain a Jet with a 4-5 game second chance.
Just a theory. I could be wrong.

Re: Jet Moves made today!
Geno is faking his injury because Vick was named the starting QB. If they had named Geno as the starter, he would have been out there. Geno needs to grow up.
