i likethe fact that casserly wasnt interviewing Mcagnan. it was only Woody and Wolf.
He let them decide without being biased.

Charlie Casserly targeted Maccagnan at start of this process. Casserly has known Maccagnan since early 90s when Maccagnan started as intern.

Casserly was not present for Maccagnan interview. Ron Wolf, Jets’ other consultant, conducted it. Wolf immediately came away impressed.

Maccagnan isn’t going to wow anyone with words or charm. That’s not him. Better ways to describe him: Logical, focused, rational, smart.

I could not be happier he wanted the scouting dept prioritized.

i wouldn't read much into it.  the league doesn't want annoucements on the weekend when playoff games are going on, and yesterday was the college title game

FWIW re: Maccagnan, one person not with the jets who I spoke with said he was far and away the best among the candidates interviewed.

sounds like a good hire.  hard to really know how a guy will do his first time in the big-boy chair.  we can't just look at the texans drafts and say if he is good or bad since he didn't make the final calls.  but it seems most of the reviews of his knowledge and work ethic are very good.  i like that wolf led his interview and came away impressed, so it's not just casserly selling his guy on woody.

glad that part is done with before they make the final call on coach.  obviously it would have been better to have had maccagnan in on the quinn interview, especially in light of bowles being in today for round 2.
