The season shifts gears from here and we transition to an extended 2015 preseason beginning this week (yes, the 2015 preseason begins in October 2014 for our New York Jets).
Let the evaluation process/tryouts for 2015 playing time begin in the following areas:
* no more excuses for Geno. Can he look like a competent game manager and borderline franchise QB with a full compliment of weapons?
* coaching staff - will they have a strong finish again, rally the troops, get us back to 8-8, and save themselves again? A big part of that will be can Marty and Lee unlock Geno's potential.
* Percy Harvin - is he the answer as the perfect compliment to Decker, Kerley, and Amaro? He won't be 100% integrated, but hopefully we see some flashes.
* Aboushi OG - looked awesome last week in the run game. Can he continue to build as a young answer to some of our oline issues?
* Coples OLB swan song has to be in consideration. He only played 19 snaps and was eventually benched last week. Will Coples turn the corner or are these his last 9 games as an OLB?
* Amaro and Pryor continued development - we need to continue to see growth and development in Amaro and hopefully by December he starts displaying some consistency in his production. Pryor - we need to start seeing something...anything...
We get to watch 4 quarters of starters playing to determine their potential fit on the 2015 roster. Let the player and coaching evaluations begin.
