If Simms is not starting next week, I'm driving down to Florham Park and kicking Rex in the nads.

Sure why not? Vick just threw another INT. It doesn't really matter. This seson is lost. We have no QB. Our secondary needs help. Rex is getting fired. We're staring at a new beginning.
Let's make a run at Mariota. What else are we gonna do?

Agreed. We know what we have in Geno. And we know Vick is, at best, short-term. Find out what you have in Simms. And draft the Duck.NickSINYC wrote:that was my point earlier all Vick does it get us closer to missing the playoffs and a worst draft pick next year. The front seven of our defense should be pissed. They lay it all out there, and for what? Six turnovers from the offense today. Embarrassing and disgraceful.

Love to be in a position to draft the Duck next year. To be honest even though want to see more of Simms I don't expect much so playing him wont hurt our chances at MarriotaSackExchange wrote:Agreed. Oh, I don't expect Simms to do anything. But at least you'll know you don't have anything, and you will be closer to Mariota.

This mess needs to be flushed. Penalties, turnovers and no discipline. Rex is a bad head coach.

Can't argue with what I'm reading. New coach and QB next year, starting over on another "3 year plan". Might as well play Geno and go 2-14 to get the #1 pick. I don't know what they think they saw in Geno. He's awful; not even sure he can be a backup in the NFL. Not that accurate, and makes bad decisions too.

After this debacle. I would love to see Rex get fired tonight and MM be named interim HC with absolutely no way of making that permanent.
I am tired of the stupid penalties, turnovers and Rex being out coached most of the time. We are never the team who is properly prepared at the start or makes the right half time adjustments.
Vick killed the Bills the 1st half with his legs because the Bills did not expect to see him. But for the most part was contained in the second half. If it was reversed with another QB the Jets would still be getting burned

The proof is right before our eyes. Today was an opportunity to regain some modicrum of respectability back and give fans a reason to continue watching these games. What did we see, other than a complete comedy of errors and bad football?
The rebuild starts with Ryan and Geno.

Just be glad you aren't Crow fans.
They just beat CIN and the refs called a totally bogus OFFENSIVE interference call on Steve Smith to negate an 80 yard TD with under a minute left.
The DB just did a soccer "flop" and the refs totally bought it.
The NFL is TOTALLY "fixed".

The Jets have forced their opponents over this whole season to turn over the ball half of the number of times that the Jets have turned it over TODAY.
Let that statement wash over you.

From what I've read here and seen on the RedZone, I have to agree about a new coach and, yes a new QB. But I would say give Simms at least 1-2 starts.
This is, as a couple of others have stated, probably the game that seals the fate of both Rex and Geno.
Don't know what else to say except that I guess I was wrong about Geno.

It happens, we get invested in our hopes and dreams, but sometimes it just doesn't come to pass for us.
But now consider that error in judgement about Mr. Smith, and reflect on your statement about wanting a new HC.
I'd hate to see you regret ANOTHER judgement.

Does Rex make the bye?
More importantly, this is a fan base that, despite its ridiculous impatience, has held Rex in very high regard. Will the fans start turning on Rex in greater volume?

So you are saying that you think Rex deserves to keep his job? With the penalties? horrible timeouts/clock management issues? Not controlling the offense? Terrible defensive lapses? Questionable strategic decisions?
I love Rex's passion and how hard his players play for him, but this year has been an embarrassment from start to finish and someone has to be held accountable. I would love for him to stay on as the defensive coordinator but not as the HC.

Re: Bill at Jets 1PM October 26, 2014
I don't know how anyone can make the case to keep Ryan beyond this season. I was willing to give him the rest of 2014, but after this debacle today, my patience is gone. I've seen enough. It's time to move on from Rex Ryan. This team is turning it over, committing stupid penalties, and has just lost it's 7th game in a row. This game was at home, coming off 10 days of rest and preparation, with a shiny new playmaker for the offense, and we come out looking like complete garbage.
Woody needs to man up and fire Ryan tonight.

I do have to add that Rex was not given a full deck to play with as Idzik didn't do him any favors with how he built the Defensive backfield.

I'm not buying that. This team's problems go way beyond Idzik. Now next year, we can start examining Idzik's job more. But right now, this lies at the feet of Ryan. Undisciplined and sloppy play go right to the HC.
It's like a broken record, but it bears repeating: Milliner's injury was nobody's fault, McDougle's injury was nobody's fault, and Patterson played well before he signed here, and before he went nuts and didn't show up for practice. Bad luck at CB.

This is a debacle, Idzik should be held responsible.
