Except Vick does none of the things Geno should have been learning.NYJETSDAN16 wrote:That Jet TD symbolizes how inept the Jets coaching staff is. Vick should have started from game one and should have had Geno learn from him all the nuances that an NFL QB can bring.
Yet, the coaches and even the GM for that matter forced the issue with a truly raw individual in Geno.
I honestly can't believe what i'am watching right now. Surreal. We could have been atleast 5-3 or 4-4 at this point. Surreal.
Time to clean house completely.
He is an inaccurate passer who turns the ball over too much and has a tendency to tuck and run too early. He has gotten by his entire career on his pure physical talent.
Maybe Geno should not have been playing. But having him learn from Vick is just a moronic idea.

Redzone TD This is what I was afraid of in a lost season Rex saving his job and the team blowing a chance at a good draft pick

With a weak late year schedule, the Jets could pull out 4-6 wins, screw up their draft choice, and show enough momentum to make firing Rex impossible.
They needed the bye this week. Coming off last week, they could have fired Rex and named an interim for the rest of the season. But unless they blow this lead, Rex is safe at least to the end of the season.

WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING OUT THERE!!?????
We can't even lose the right way??!!
#ASSBACKWARDS
Friggin team is messing with my emotions. Now if we win i'am going to start figuring out for two weeks if an 8-8 club can make it to a wild card spot.
FN team is driving me to the rope, high ceiling and chair fellas.

Not a moronic idea at all Sack. Vick could have showed Geno how to stay in the league for a while and be competitive.
Geno was too raw to start the season. Vick was ready to pull off atleast through 6-8 games before normally getting injured, atleast Geno could have had time to learn from the sidleines and when his number would have been called he would have been much more confident than a 3 interception showing.

Don't you know this team Dan. Even if 8-8 could get the Jets in they would get to 7-8 and then lose the last game in a nail biter.NYJETSDAN16 wrote:WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING OUT THERE!!?????

No, he really couldn't have. Vick has not been healthy, so he's not shown how to stay in the league.NYJETSDAN16 wrote:SackExchange wrote:Except Vick does none of the things Geno should have been learning.NYJETSDAN16 wrote:That Jet TD symbolizes how inept the Jets coaching staff is. He can't "teach" Geno to have a cannon for an arm and a faster 40 time. Those are natural gifts, not something you can really coach or teach.
So, no, there is nothing about being a good QB that Vick could have taught Geno, except how to turn the ball over and make one read before taking off running.

Need a first down? Go at Wilson; though in fairness, Antonio Brown has been doing that to everyone this year.

HA! A season's worth of good luck in one week.
I had ridiculed it, but maybe there is something to the idea of SOJ luck.

Teaching or not, we defineltly wouldn't be in a 1-8 hole if Vick was starting from the bat. Mike was ready Geno was extremely raw.

All is aligned in the world. Now that the Jets are eliminated from a winning record (and likely a playoff spot), every break will go their way. When we need them to win, they lose. When we need them to lose, they win.NickSINYC wrote:Jets getting the crazy bounces now The world has turned upside down
This season is EVERYTHING being a Jets fan is all about. Unfulfilled promise, a big-time QB draft bust, frustration...2014 may be the most Jets season ever.

Our last chance in the Mariota derby is if Rex can get out coached in halftime adjustments the way he usually doesSackExchange wrote:All is aligned in the world. Jarett may be replacing Pryor as our FS. Pryor should be our SS anyway.

But that would have meant giving up on Geno before the season started. Vick is not a teaching QB.
If you want to bring in a veteran who can teach a young QB how to play the position, you pick a guy who knows how to make the reads. You pick a cerebral guy who may not have the best arm, or great escapability, but can go through the progressions, be accurate, and not turn over the ball.
You pick a Matt Hasselbeck or maybe a Ryan Fitzpatrick (concerned about his turnover ratio), not a Michael Vick. Choosing Vick is because you expect Vick to play, not because you want to help groom Geno.
