Our comment section has reached point of people saying Amaro has been a disappointment and is a failed pick. Time to walk away for a bit.
This also comes from taking the Idzik and Rex hate too far.
You have to take each decision independent of one another and not blend them all together.
Harvin is still a good trade, IMO.
CJ2k, Decker, Ivory, Landry - good to great signings (yes, even CJ2k even if it doesnt pan out).
Garrard, Patterson, Goodson, Gia (RT) - not so much
Amaro and Richardson are great picks.
Milliner, Geno, Winters, Pryor, Evans, Saunders, and McDougle - were not good picks, or good picks where we took them (they can improve and develop, but right now, they would all grade out as C or worse draft grades as of today, even Milliner who caried over his injury concerns heading into the draft into his brief NFL career now having 8 surgeries the last 6 years).
I would grade the Amaro pick an A-; the problem is, some people look at Idzik's body of work and just throw an F on the entire thing. He can't be scored that way, IMO.
I'm still in the boat that says he deserves 2 more years, but if we win less than 5 games next year, get rid of him. He already appears over his head, he needs to do something next year to prove he isn't.
It didn't take Idzik long to have Jets fans throwing out we're back in the Kotite era; and for all the Mike T hate, he never had us this bad...and that's coming from someone who also couldn't wait till he was gone.
Idzik needs to clean out everyone's office in the building but his own and rebuild the entire organization...and start with anyone he listened, at any point of time, in the scouting department, because Idzik looks like a complete buffoon when it comes to evaluating college level talent right now. Hitting on 2 picks out of 20 shouldn't be applauded, IMO.
You can't cheer from the rafters on batting .100 on draft picks. Bill Polian said the good GMs bat 55% on draft picks while everyone else bats ~50%; Idzik is batting 10% right now. That's a problem when you preach building through the draft.
