Indeed. The decision to suspend him was hardly carved in stone--they could have dealt with him missing the walk-through in any number of ways.
Well, that being said, Gordon appears to be his own worst enemy, and probably the only person who can stop him from putting up 100 yards receiving every week.
I bet the Browns would entertain a high (2) draft choice for Gordon ? Is he too big a gamble to trade for ?

Cy, the guy is full of talent but a head case who is his own worst enemy.....don't think this latest suspension will change his character over night. Why waste a high pick on a guy that has issues seeing the field due to being a "muppet"

I don't think Gordon is much as a head case, but someone who likes to Party too much (as Farve was when young). I would Gamble with a 3rd Rd pick. Multiple picks for the Jets have been disaster of late. I would take a flyer on Gordon and sign Harvin to a 2-4 yr deal and give us the best or close to the best WR corp in football. The draft does not guarantee a WR will be successful. We just need a HC who will crack the whip and not be a best buddy as Ryan was!

the problem with gordon and is partying ways is he is one failed drug test away from a year (if not more) suspension.
gordon is uber-talented and a threat to the opponent every time he steps on the field. the problem is he is also a threat to himself off the field, and you have no degree of certainty he will ever grow up and be able to step onto the playing field 16 games a year.

It must be nice to retire at 32 with millions in the bank when you were never more than average at your job compared to your peers. I like Kyle Orton, thought he would have a better career coming out of Purdue, but he couldn't get it going with the Bears or the other teams that followed. Just didn't have the arm talent, really.
Now what are the Bills going to do? Trade up for a QB? Oh, that's right, they don't have a 1st round pick to trade. I guess it's going to be the EJ Manuel show next year.

well unless we draft (and likely trade up for) either winston or mariotta, we are really in no different shape than the bills are at QB.

Billick said it perfect: walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck...
Rodgers had an injured leg during the game, and surprise surprise! Suh puts all of his weight on top of it. Dirtbag. He's done as a Lion. Which team takes a chance on this troublemaker?

Suh will be a Raider, he already wants the biggest contract out there regardless of team, Raiders will have the most cap space, and Mack and Suh would be a solid duo.
Also, I think this sounds like he's available:
Mike Pettine: We’re at a crossroads with Josh Gordon

Cleveland Browns v St. Louis Rams 8-8-2013

Browns coach Mike Pettine held a year-end press conference on Monday and he spent a lot more time talking about off-field issues that on-field ones.
That was predictable after wide receiver Josh Gordon, cornerback Justin Gilbert and quarterback Johnny Manziel all landed in trouble with the team for missing meetings over the weekend. While none of the situations is one that the Browns want to be dealing with right now, Gordon’s case is particularly troubling given his previous off-field issues and the need for the team to know if they can count on him in the future.
“Clearly a disappointing end to the year for him. At some point you get tired of using the word potential,” Pettine said, via Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal. “This offseason for Josh Gordon puts him squarely at a crossroads with us. We want him here, but want him accountable.”
Speaking more generally, Pettine said he didn’t know how to keep players from getting in trouble off the field because they are adults that need to take care of themselves and that the team was “going to take time” to discuss how to move forward with the players who got in trouble over the weekend.
The Browns were looking at all three players as part of the foundation of a consistent winner, which makes discussing whether they’ll be on the team at all a depressing way to end a season even for a team that’s had as many of them as the Browns.

Brady restructures his contract to free up $24 million in cash. my guess is Revis' agent is on line #1 looking to make a deal.
http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/12094227/tom-brady-restructures-contract-give-new-england-patriots-24-million-more-cash
In a deal turned into the NFL office Monday, quarterback Tom Brady restructured his contract to give the New England Patriots $24 million more in cash to spend this offseason, according to league sources.
Under the new deal, Brady changed the $24 million in "skill" guarantee to only "injury" guarantee, meaning that Brady now would get the guaranteed money only if he were injured.
Brady also now can be released by the Patriots without any liability, but he then would become an unrestricted free agent, free to command the type of guaranteed money he has agreed to surrender.
Brady will receive a $1 million bump in each of the three remaining years of the deal. His base salaries will now be $8 million in 2016, $9 million in 2016 and $10 million in 2018.
The move frees up cash for the Patriots to use on other players. New England needs the cash to help re-sign some of its own free agents, including cornerback Darrelle Revis, safety Devin McCourty, tackle Nate Solder and running back Shane Vereen, among others.

This sounds very fishy to me ? A restructured deal giving the Patriots 24 million more to play with ? I hope the NFL investigates this, because I don't trust the Patriots @ all. Brady does'nt care, because his wife makes more money than he does.

Let's ease up with the Brady move. It does not clear up any cap space. All it does is give them more financial flexibility, cash flexibility.

That's a huge kick in the nuts to the Bills. That's huge news because the Bills just finished above .500 @ 9-7 for the first time in a long time !
I knew the Bills would be improved this year with Sammy Watkins WR, but Orton pushed them over the top.
Are they going to go with EJ Manuel or snag another old retread ?

Polian has a new contract from ESPN. "It certainly wouldn't have been as lucrative" as what he would have received from #Bills.
So......... Polian would've wanted to work with Marrone.
