I know its my personal bias but I have no interest in a 6'1" average armed QB. I know they can succeed but can't we find a 6'4" or 6'5" QB with an above average arm to draft and groom.

If I'm Cardele Jones I'm sorry but I'm taking a long hard look at my draft status

Mel Kiper said today that Cardele is in the 2nd round right now.

Sounds like they need to change the East / West Shrine game to the 4th -7th round Shrine game !

Have to think Cardele needs to spend at least a year, if not two, holding a clipboard. He started all of what, 4 college gamesWhat a Face

That having been said, he has absolutely prototypical physical tools. Size, strength, and he can huck it a country mile. Lots there to work with, if you're willing to invest the time and effort. Seems to have more than his share of composure and maturity too, given the success he's had. Played within himself very well, except for that one dropback where he lost the ball trying to throw it away.

well, that's my bias as well, but that doesn't seem to be a GUARANTEED winning formula. It goes back decades. Remember Mark McGwire's brother Dan? People wet themselves over his measurables...just like they still do these days with others.

\Scouts/GMs need to open their minds in this era of the QB........size may not matter Shocked

that is the key......and it should be the approach with EVERY QB in this year's draft......none of them are ready. For all the good things Jones did in that game, he made college plays and pro mistakes. He ran too soon, locked onto receivers, and also held the ball too long. He had the big arm, tough in the pocket, and seemed to have good accuracy. He has a chance with more experience...but he isn't pro material yet.

wooo weee.....I attended that East/West Shrine game.......what a dog it was.....unless you like defense.  I honestly feel after seeing it that none of the QBs on either side were done any favors by the playcalling.  That was as vanilla as you can dream up - run, run, pass, punt.  Pretty much the formula all day.  Receivers for the most part were dominated by the DBs.  QBs were harrassed.  Kickers were the stars - though it must be said there were no legit attempts to contest any of the FG attempts.
