I don't think it'll be too high because the jets are picking up the rest of his contract through 2018.

Again, for people hating on John Idzik. The guy has a plan and it takes time folks. These are the moves everyone expected in the off season. Yet i'am glad Woody is letting John handle everything and not listening to knee jerk reactions (INCLUDING MYSELF).

It takes time to build a foundation, once it's set, we will be perenial.

Agreed. Too many fans lack patience. This team eroded over the course of many years. It takes more than a year and a half to fix everything. On offense, He's added Ivory, Decker, Amaro, and now Harvin which is pretty damn impressive. Also, I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but I think they might feel pretty good about Geno going forward, or are just giving him every opportunity to prove he is/isn't the guy.

wow...did not see that coming. you don't usually see 1-6 teams picking up veteran players (from a contending team nonetheless). obviously this is a move for the long-term, to give geno (or whoever the QB) another competent WR to go along with decker.

weird thing for harvin (and fantasy owners of harvin) - he doesn't play a game this week

I agree. All the people that said Geno didn't have weapons around him should really judge him accordingly now. Geno has everything for him to showcase to management if he is a valid franchise QB. Frankly, i don't see it. Yet, Geno can change everyones mind on that in the final 9 games of the season.

THERE ARE NO MORE EXCUSES FOR GENO.

Percy Harvin has no more guaranteed money due to him after this season, though he’s to earn $41.5M over the next 4. A tryout for him.

It all depends on Geno. If he continues to struggle, Mariota might be in the best position as a Rookie QB if the Jets continue to spiral downward.

    Decker
    Amaro
    CJ2K
    Ivory
    P.Harvin
    Solid O-Line

There are no more excuses for Geno, but i feel Geno will still falter. Mariota on the other and would flourish with this cast. Fast pace to the max.

From what I'm reading(and what Dan posted), this is basically a tryout for Harvin which is why the pick is conditional. He doesn't have anymore guaranteed money left on his deal, and the Jets can cut him after the season and keep the pick. However, if they like what they see, I'm sure they'll rework his deal because Harvin's base salaries are pretty high over the next four years.

Per @spotrac, Harvin under contract through 2018. Cap hit next year $10.5 million.

Glad to see an upgrade at the most needed position. The conditions are most likely based on performance and/or production.

If Harvin is truely hard to deal with, it also may be a sign that Ryan isn't in as much trouble as we assume. Also, MM is known to be able to deal with players with attitude issues(Desean Jackson & Holmes come to mind).
