I am not thrilled about it but Gailey knows him well and wanted him. He is probably going to be our youngest coach. I think he is only mid thirties.
Hopefully this is one of those mentor:protege situations. At the very least, it helps ensure the OC and QB coach are on the same page. I don't doubt Patullo can learn a lot from Gailey, I just hope he has something to teach Geno and whoever else we run with at QB. One cant help wondering what Patullo brings to the table with respect to a veteran QB we might bring in.

I wonder if Dorrell will coach QBS afterall and Patullo will do WRs?

There is some logic to it but the official website has Dorrell as the WR coach. If it does happen it will be a change from their original plan.

Interesting. I'm not sure how the offensive staff will fully line up with Dorrell and Patullo.

Seems like we still need a running backs coach, maybe another DB coach, and a couple of QC guys

Jets officially name Brian Heimerdinger director of player personnel. At 28, one of the youngest evaluators ever in that kind of position.

It's very refreshing to read this. A young up and comer handed the reigns to scout kids with real talent. I just love where this organization is headed.

Nick, is the title of director of player personnel only behind the gm job?

Thanks Nick. It appears as if Macc has combined pro/college personnel director into this new position for Heimerdinger. That's a powerful role for such a young man. Just saw this on TOJ.

Wasn't included in announcement by team but this basically has to mean that previous Director of Pro Personnel Brendan Prophett is either...

    gone or getting demoted #Jets

If I had to guess, I'd say he's gone.

Steve Marshall coaching the o Line is a great hire. Aaron Rodgers always had a clean pocket to throw from.

Which is great. He's surrounding himself with proven quality. People he can trust that are on the same page in order for this organization to move forward.

I think Rex Hogan (former Bears scout) was hired as director of college scouting
