Crossing the Line..... Media Empty Crossing the Line..... Media

    Post by football51 Sun 4 Jan 2015 - 16:58

This is an eye opening read. It deals a lot about Marrone, but really shows how certain "writers" try to manipulate the public which is why I gave it it's own thread. For anyone here who isn't blocked by Mehta on social media, send him the link. Spread the word. We as fans deserve much better than this.

Nice to see a journalist writting a decent essay for once and calling out the hacks.

    Qudos to him

We do deserve better than Mehta, much better. Which is why he should be fired and never allowed to cover football again. He makes Cimini look like Yeats.

We make a mistake when we view Mehta as a journalist.  He's a tabloid huckster whose main goal is to generate online ad revenue through sensationalist muckracking. I suppose he's good at his job

Jets would be justified to ban all NYDN reporters from the locker room as long as Mehta is employed as beat writer there. Make a statement.

The NY Post is in the game on Mehta, without naming him:

"That has not stopped a character assassination on Marrone by one agenda-driven reporter in town, who clearly fears the idea of Marrone coming to the Jets. Some have bought in to his thinking. Let’s hope Johnson is smart enough to see through the sleazy attempt to undercut Marrone."

Good stuff! I'm not a Marrone proponent myself, but the notion that Mehta or any writer could have a sensible opinion on his qualifications is preposterous. I am guessing Marrone has also refused to dignify Mehta by talking to him in the past, and that is what has set MM off against him.

If a writer has an opinion about a prospective coach, something along the lines of, "Marrone's offense isn't ideal for this team as it's currently built"....that's one thing.

But Manish Mehta's writes in a tabloid, rumor mill, highly speculative manner. And his latest tweets regarding Marrone and Idzik show a blatant personal agenda he's promoting. He doesn't like either one of them, and resorts to personal attacks to make his point. I've read that Idzik blew him off during a presser, probably after a stupid question, and that's when Mehta went off the deep end on his personal crusade to tarnish Idzik.

I'm not a journalist, but I've gotta believe this violates some ethical code of behavior that respected journalists take seriously.

Kinda ironic that you use ethical and journalist in the same sentence.

I wish I knew how to contact the FireJohnIdzik crazies and pass Mehta's email address off to them. Maybe, if they've got some free time, they can start a new website Twisted Evil .

That lunatic Mehta would probably love it if someone started a fire Mehta campaign. He just cares about the attention not if he is liked or respected
