    Marrone Heavy Favorite?

Post by Sarge on Sat 3 Jan 2015 - 17:22

What is your response to this statement

Once Doug Marrone opted out of his Buffalo contact, he became the overwhelming favorite to be hired as the next Jets coach

I voted strongly agree but that might just be my bias as he is my strong favorite

I said agree. I think he's the favorite, but I could see another team move fast on him who isn't in need of a GM also.

We're lining up the gm's he'd like to work with and vice versa in Mike Maccagnan, Rick Mueller, and Ryan Pace. Marrone hated the Bills gm, so I don't see him going to a team that doesn't have a natural fit at gm.

Hard to know if he likes any of the GMs from SF, Chicago, Oakland, or Atlanta...obviously with the Bears GM TBD...and hopefully we select a GM because they're a great GM candidate, not because Marrone likes them...

I Love the fact that the guy grew up a Jets fan. A true New Yorker from the Bronx. Dude's a stud. I Just feel Woody and him have an agreement that the GM will be hired first with all signs pointing on working together with Marrone.

    GM-1st
    Coach-2nd.

Just so that the media has one less topic to hold against the Jets.

Dan that may be the case. If it is do you think that would stop clowns like Mehta from writing that the Jets are lying and trying to make fools of their fans whether he could prove it or not. It is no win for Woody no matter how he handles it if he ends up hiring Marrone.

I still think it will forever go on until the Jets start winning. I'am a firm believer that Marrone will set Manish straight once the regular season begins. His inner Bronx will come out.

I'm crossing my fingers we also get Ryan Pace as GM.

    Ditto

I don't think the Saints can block his interview this time so it's up to Pace whether he wants to interview here or not.
