Spend that money we have unused to get a stellar guard, fix our CB situation, get a speed merchant at WR, AND bring in a guy who can lead an offense and make all of the throws.

The only reason we aren't in the thick of the playoff hunt this year is bc of extra possessions given to the opposition.

I would love to upgrade the aforementioned positions & see what we look like with a "Carson Palmer" next year, and for the next few years. The core of this team is built to win right now, and my fear is a Mariota without an Arians is asking for another multi-year project...and let's face it, this franchises fan base doesn't give that kind of time.

That said, I think we are going to be fighting Tampa for Mariota, as OAK has Carr & JAX has Bortles. if he is there, we have to take him. But I would go the FA too, and go into the draft picking from a position of strength.

    Iupati OG 9ers?

Wow!!! nice thought. I don't know about you, but I haven't missed Winters a bit with Aboushi's play, if you can retain Colon as depth by filling his spot with Iupati, that would be an unbelievably deep line.

Aboushi received nice reviews for his play yesterday. Maybe we found a starting guard? Silver lining to a dreadful season.

I've seen enough of Winters. Colon is a great run blocker with a short fuse and a propensity for false starts. We might need to look at a high priced guard and cornerback in FA this offseason. Focus the draft on finding a franchise QB. Hell, I'd trade a bunch of picks to move up for Mariota. And I usually don't advocate that kind of approach.

Mariota is for real. Get him.

Not sure there's a lot of CBs this year to get excited about. Cromartie, Revis, etc?!?

In with you on Mariota. He's not an A+ prospect, but he's the best of a weak class by far, IMO.

    LG, not RG material.
No doubt Iupati could play RG but it'd be a waste of a great pass pro LG and a step back from Colon's run blocking.

So Rex, Vick, and Babin all got fined by the league. Did the Steeler who dove over Mangold on the kneel down?

THIS LEAGUE IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!

Rex gets fined $100K. Babin and Vick both get fined.

NOTHING for Mitchell for his dive on the kneel.

At some point, someone has to call out Roger Goodell for being nothing more than Vince McMahon.

Is the only reason Rex got the fine because the camera happened to be on him at that exact moment? Something he had no control over whatsoever? Or do they usually fine coaches for using profanity? Rolling Eyes

I have been around a lot of swearing on the football field.

If every coach or player who swore was fined, they would be broke. And there would be about 30 or 31 head coaches being fined every week. I think it has to be because of the camera.

I don't think it was for the F-bomb walking off the field, I think it was the multiple F-bombs he threw towards the officials on the sidelines ?

Fortunately for the Patriots and Giants, two teams the league clearly hates, their coaches are both mild-mannered and polite toward officials.

I didn't know about those. I thought that kind of thing was pretty routine, but who knows what he actually said to them!

As long as we won, f'em and their fines. I hate steeler fans and we don't beat them often enough. I'll take fines and even a lower draft picks for wins over the Pats and Steelers all day.

It's never a good sign when the players have to restrain the H.C. from going after the Ref's ! I really do hate it for Rex, he knows he's dead man walking after the season ends, and he's got to be stressed out to the max ! I do know he will get a job offer within 48 hours for a team needing a D.C.. When I told my wife about Rex's 100K fine, she said, "that's part of why he's being fired, he needs to act like a H.C."! cheers

    Agreed. It's garbage.

How much does the league have to dump on us when they're down? Their agenda is clear.

When Manish Mehta says you're too tough on the Jets, you went way beyond...
