I know we have a baseball board, but I doubt a post on it would really get seen much.
I just wanted to make a post on here to recognize this tragic occurrence.
Oscar Taveras was a 22 year old outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals and he was going to be one of the next great players in baseball. He homered in his first game earlier this year and, 2 weeks ago, he hit a game-tying home run in the 7th inning of NLCS game 2 (his final MLB appearance).
It's amazing how fragile life is. If the Cardinals had won the NLCS then Oscar Taveras would be alive today.
His 18-year old girlfriend also passed away in the crash.
This piece on hardball talk has brought out about 45 minutes of tears.

RIP Oscar
